Harden hits late winner for Rockets over Warriors

first_imgHOUSTON (AP): Houston’s James Harden scored 35 points, including the game-winner with 2.7 seconds left, as the Rockets capitalised on Stephen Curry’s absence to beat Golden State 97-96 on Thursday, narrowing the deficit in their NBA first-round play-off series to 2-1. The other two series contested Thursday also stand at 2-1 as Oklahoma City comfortably beat Dallas, and Toronto won at Indiana. The game at Houston built to a late climax as Shaun Livingston stole a pass from Trevor Ariza to create Ian Clark’s lay-up, which put Golden State up by a point with 10.6 seconds left. Harden then took it to the other end and stepped back for the jump shot to win it. “The last shot was typical of what James does,” Houston coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “The move, we’ve seen before. The finish, we’ve seen before. You do get spoiled by it at times, but in these biggest of moments, you can’t help but appreciate it.” Golden State had a chance to win it after that, but Draymond Green dribbled the inbounds pass off his foot and out of bounds. Marreese Speights came off the bench to lead the Warriors with 22 points and Klay Thompson had 17. Dwight Howard added 13 points, 13 rebounds, and had two blocks for Houston. Curry was feeling better on Thursday and wanted to play, but the Warriors decided the chance of him re-injuring his ankle before it was fully healed wasn’t worth the risk. Coach Steve Kerr said they would have a better feel for his availability for Game 4 tomorrow after they see how he responds to the next two days of practice. Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant bounced back from the worst shooting game of his play-off career with 34 points, which led the Thunder to a 131-102 victory over Dallas. Durant had seven field goals midway through the second quarter on nine shots, compared with the 33 attempts he needed to seven in a Game 2 loss. The 2014 MVP scored 20 points in the first half when the Thunder led by as many as 19 points. Game 4 is today in Dallas. Dirk Nowitzki played despite a right-knee bruise and scored 16 points for the Mavericks, who missed 10 of their first 12 shots from 3-point range. Russell Westbrook scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half and had 15 assists. Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan rebounded from his post-season shooting slump, and he and Kyle Lowry scored 21 points to lead the Raptors to a 101-85 win at Indiana.last_img read more

John Deere streamlines precision ag capabilities with Generation 4 CommandCenter Premium Activation

first_imgShare Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest  New activation bundles three most popular apps and vehicle functionality  John Deere introduces new precision ag solutions with Generation 4 CommandCenter Premium Activation. The offering combines the three most commonly used applications from the GreenStar 3 2630 display – AutoTrac, Documentation and Section Control – along with vehicle functionality, through the on-board 4600 CommandCenter-integrated display. Premium Activation is available on 7R and 8R Series Tractors, plus 6R Series and 9R Series Tractors.“This latest update to our precision ag solutions capitalizes on the positive feedback we’ve received on the redesign of the CommandCenter,” says Jarred Karnei, tactical marketing manager at John Deere. “The 4600 CommandCenter gives customers the ability to capture more accurate data while making it easier to manage, document and transfer that data. Ultimately, this allows them to make more informed input decisions that directly enhance the operation of machines and improve the yield, productivity and profitability of their operations.”The Generation 4 CommandCenter Premium Activation integrates a number of different applications, including Section Control, which provides customers with potential input savings by minimizing skips and overlap, and, according to an Auburn University study, can save customers an average of 20 percent or more on inputs for planting and fertilizing.Another popular application offered with the Premium Activation is AutoTrac machine guidance, which includes new software updates that help improve production. For example, operators are now able to shift AB curves radially at any point in the curve, offering more flexibility to customers with waterways, terraces and other obstacles in the field. The Documentation feature rounds out the key functions available through the 4600 CommandCenter integrated display. With Documentation, operators can manage and track a variety of applications, including capturing and recording all field operations. Also available in the Premium Activation is Wireless Data Transfer, which uses JDLink™ Connect to enable efficient wireless information flow from the machine to the John Deere Operations Center, helping to limit data loss by eliminating the need for manually moving data on a USB flash drive.“Customers can now quickly change items when they switch fields, and double-check field, machine and prescription attributes all from a single convenient location,” Karnei adds. “All of these new features in the 4600 CommandCenter help make operators more efficient while increasing their productivity and data management capabilities.”The Generation 4 CommandCenter Premium Activation is now available for factory and field-installed orders. Suncor reports lower net earnings as weather outage cuts into oilsands output

first_imgCALGARY – Suncor Energy Inc. says net earnings in the first quarter of 2018 fell to $789 million or 48 cents per share, compared to $1.35 billion or 81 cents per share in the same period of 2017.Net earnings included a $329-million non-cash foreign exchange loss and a non-cash gain of $133 million from an exchange of lands with Canbriam Energy Inc.It missed analyst expectations of $1.05 billion or 63 cents as reported by Thomson Reuters.Operating earnings, which strip out one-time and non-cash items, were $985 million or 60 cents per share, beating $812 million or 49 cents posted a year earlier as well as analyst predictions of $952 million or 53 cents per share.Suncor says a “weather-related outage” at the company’s base camp north of Fort McMurray, Alta., resulted in lower production and upgrader utilization in the first quarter, although operations returned to normal by the end of February.Suncor’s total upstream production came in at 689,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the three months ended March 31, compared to 725,100 boe/d in the prior year quarter, as oilsands output fell to 404,800 barrels per day from 448,500 bpd.CEO Steve Williams said the loss of production and ongoing effects of deeper discounts paid for western Canadian heavy crude were offset by higher prices for its offshore production, higher realized profit margins in its refining and marketing arms and lower feedstock costs.Companies in this story: (TSX:SU)last_img read more

Maya targets PM on his marriage, BJP says she is unfit for public life

first_imgGorakhpur (UP): Unleashing a flurry of personal attacks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BSP supremo Mayawati on Monday said women in the BJP are scared of their husbands meeting the PM fearing they might “abandon their wives like him” and that he deserves the abusive language used against him.”How can he (Modi) respect others’ sisters and wives when he has left his own innocent wife for political gains?” Mayawati said in her no-holds-barred tirade which left the BJP fuming with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley saying the BSP chief is “unfit for public life”. Also Read – 2019 most peaceful festive season for J&K: Jitendra SinghAddressing a joint SP-BSP rally here, Mayawati repeated her caste swipe at Modi, calling him a “fake OBC”. “He (Narendra Modi) is lamenting in his rallies that Opposition is using abusive language for him. ‘Jo gaali khaata hai, woh gaali khaane ka kaam karta hai’ (those who get abused must have done something to deserve this treatment),” the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said. Earlier in the day, Mayawati said, “I have come to know that in BJP, married women leaders get scared when they see their husbands in Modi’s close proximity. They fear that like Modi they might also abandon their wives.” “Under such circumstances, I specially request all the women of the country not to give their votes to such a person. This would also be their real respect to the deserted wife of Modiji,” she said in a press release. With the Prime Minister daring her to withdraw support to Congress government in Rajasthan over the Alwar gangrape case, Mayawati accused him of playing “dirty politics” over the incident. How can he respect others’ sisters and wives when he has left his own innocent wife for political gains?” she said. The BJP said Mayawati’s remarks were a sign of her “frustration” as “people from different walks of life have voted for the BJP”. Slamming the BSP supremo for making personal remarks against the Prime Minister, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley tweeted: “Behan Mayawati – She is firm on becoming a Prime Minister. Her governance, ethics and discourse stoops to an all-time low. Her personal attack today on the Prime Minister exposes her as unfit for public life.” UP BJP spokesperson Chandra Mohan said “nothing can be more indecent than the statements made by her. The truth about Mayawati and her politics is coming out in front of everyone.” Mayawati also took a jibe at the Prime Minister for terming poverty as his caste during an election rally earlier last week, saying “he is changing his caste every second day for political selfish motives”. Terming the PM’s “affection” for dalits as “dramebazi”, she cited the various alleged cases of atrocities on dalits in Gujarat and other BJP ruled states and said Modi has no moral right to make any suggestion to anyone on the Alwar case.last_img read more
