first_imgThe Johns Hopkins Departmentof Orthopaedic Surgery, Bayview Trauma Division is seekingaPhysician Assistantto workcollaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and under thedirection, supervision and responsibility of a spine surgeon, andin accordance with established policies, evaluates patient’s healthstatus through diagnostic procedures and tests. Provide therapeuticpatient care under direction of a physician and in accordance withestablished protocols. Assist with orthopaedic trauma patients, andindependently handle general orthopaedic patients throughindependent clinics.Specific Dutiesand Responsibilities:Interview patients andcompiles patient medical histories to assist in determination ofhealth status. Perform physical examinations of patients, notingnormal and abnormal findings. Obtain specimens from patients andruns routine laboratory tests and procedures; performs diagnostictests, orders non-routine laboratory tests or procedures asrequired. Analyze and evaluates patient history, physicalexamination findings and laboratory values, and makes preliminarydiagnosis of patients for review by physician. Developcare/treatment plan for patient according to established protocolsand procedures; confers and consults with supervisory physician andother professionals before implementingtreatment.
