Sentencing begins for former Deputy Education Minister

A sentencing hearing is expected to get underway today in a child pornography case involving a man who was once a deputy education minister for Ontario and Manitoba.Benjamin Levin, 63, pleaded guilty to three child pornography-related charges in a Toronto court last month.  He was originally charged with seven child porn related offences.In a written statement, Levin has said he’s “deeply ashamed” of his actions.  Court has heard that Levin used to frequent an online website with numerous chatrooms for the discussion of sexual activities.Among the people he chatted with were three undercover officers all posing as women interested in sexual activities with children.
